Adaptive by Design: Sasha’s Fashion Journey

“Fashion is more than just clothes—it’s about confidence, independence, and feeling good in what you wear. I’m designing pieces that blend style with function, inspired by my own journey with CP. Excited to keep creating and learning!”

Sasha’s journey with fashion started as a creative outlet, but it quickly became more than that. During her recovery from her first leg surgery to help correct her gait, she found that splattering denim for her nonprofit wasn’t just art—it was also a form of physical therapy. That experience sparked a deeper passion for design, leading her to explore ways to make clothing more functional for people like her.

Living with CP, Sasha understands the challenges of dressing independently and is working on thoughtful designs that make getting dressed easier—without compromising on fashion. She’s currently studying fashion design and developing her first collection, The Edit by Sasha, which blends couture-inspired pieces with adaptive elements.

What She’s Working On

• Attends The UNINCORPORATED LIFE fashion school after school

• Developing a line with adaptive elements (not fully adaptive but includes features like magnets, zippers on the sides, elastic, and no buttons for ease of use)

• Current focus: Wide-leg cargo pants with adaptive components

• Future expansion: Dresses, tops, and other stylish yet comfortable pieces

As Sasha continues fundraising for CHLA, she is also working to create fashion that reflects her story and the needs of others like her. The Edit by Sasha is still in development, but it’s a reflection of her passion for inclusive, stylish design. Stay tuned for more!
